Māori Wards are the frontline of co-governance

The battle for equal citizenship starts now – this is the frontline of co-governance.
This October, we have a chance to turn the tide when voters will get a say on Māori wards.
These race-based seats were imposed without consent. They were sold as a step toward fairness, but have delivered the opposite. They reduce accountability, weaken democratic competition, and send the patronising message that Māori cannot succeed without special treatment.
Māori wards entrench division at the very moment we need unity.
Across the country, local councils have become the frontline in a slow, stealthy assault on democracy. Behind closed doors, race-based policies are being pushed through. Co-governance is being installed without consent. And representation is being carved up based not on merit or votes, but on ancestry.
This isn’t just politics. It’s a fundamental rewriting of what it means to be a citizen in New Zealand.
We want to go big with this campaign. We are talking billboards, signage, social media, and engaging with new voices. As they say ‘Go big or go home’. We are home and we reckon it is a home worth fighting for.
The more supporters who chip in to this fight, the bigger we can take it. Now is the time to act. If you care about the future of our democracy, you need to join us.
Once these Māori Wards are embedded it will be almost impossible to undo them. We have to show up now to stop them in their tracks.
Big things are coming… or they will be if enough supporters get involved.
