It's time to end the division

Stand for equality. Reject racial division.

Across New Zealand, we’re seeing an alarming pattern. More and more laws, policies, and government decisions are dividing Kiwis by race and ancestry.

From local councils creating race-based representation, to government departments applying separate rules, to calls for tikanga-based legal systems and now even the Waitangi Tribunal recommending race-based citizenship, the principle of equality before the law is being rapidly eroded.

This is not partnership. It’s division.
And it’s time to draw the line.

Every New Zealander deserves to be treated the same by their government, no matter their ancestry. That was the promise made in 1840, and it remains the foundation of a free and fair nation.

When laws begin to recognise rights or privileges based on whether we have a distant Māori ancestor or not, we cease to be one people.

It’s not racist to oppose racial preference.
It’s not radical to demand equality.
It’s simply fair.

Add your name below to stand for unity, fairness, and common sense.
Together, we can defend the principle that being a New Zealander means the same thing for every one of us: equal rights, equal responsibilities, and equal citizenship.

We, the undersigned, call on the Government to:

  1. Reaffirm the principle of one law for all New Zealanders, regardless of race, ancestry, or ethnicity;

  2. Reject all proposals that embed separate legal systems, rights, or pathways based on heritage; and

  3. Restore equality before the law as the guiding value of New Zealand’s democracy.
