Mike McVicker is a fourth term Rotorua Lakes Council Councillor who has been at the forefront of promoting democracy in Rotorua over the years, firstly, with the ownership of the Rotorua Lake beds issue, and more recently with the undemocratic appointment of unelected Te Arawa tribal representatives to council.
